May 29--HASKELL SAID TO HAVE THE BLUES Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, which paid $9.2 million for 130 acres in Deerwood Park, soon is expected to announce a general contractor for its suburban campus.

Site plans at the city Planning and Development Department show a 10- structure, 1.8 million-square-foot project.

Blue Cross said early this month it would announce construction plans and decisions in the fourth quarter, although it'll probably be sooner.

Blue Cross spokesman Patrick McCabe said last week that "discussions are continuing" regarding a general contractor but declined to elaborate.

In the meantime, Networkers say The Haskell Co. will handle construction of the project, estimated at up to $70 million.
