Korean Car Maker Kia to Open Dealership in Jacksonville, Fla.(Originated from The Florida Times-Union, Jacksonville)

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--Jun. 23--The country's newest import car company, the Korean manufacturer Kia, is coming to Jacksonville in six months, after opening dealerships in Florida's Panhandle and Atlanta this month.

Kia, which began selling its compact Sephia sedan in February 1994 in Portland, Ore., and Las Vegas now has outlets in 19 states.

This past January, the company began selling its small Sportage four-door sports utility as well.

Earlier this month, the company established dealerships in Pensacola and Fort Walton Beach.

An Atlanta dealership opened yesterday. Dealerships were also opened this month in Alabama and Little Rock, Ark. But the two vehicles won't be available in Jacksonville until at least late winter, said company spokesman...
