SALT LAKE CITY--Jul. 14--Delta Air Lines to Salt Lake City: Try Cincinnati or Atlanta. The Atlanta-based carrier sent two senior and two regular vice presidents to tell Utah officials Thursday the airline would not apply for a nonstop Salt Lake City-to-London air route.

"They treated us very well," says Lou Miller, airport authority director. "But we're still disappointed."

The decision means Delta is passing up an almost sure bet of picking up the Salt Lake-to-London route that will be abandoned later this year by American Airlines out of Nashville, Tenn.

Salt Lake passengers wanting to fly Delta all the way to London still have to make connections in Cincinnati or Atlanta. Or, they can fly on Delta to either New York, Miami, Orlando, San Francisco...
