Airbus A300 Jetliner Awaits Approval from Federal Aviation Administration.(Originated from Press-Telegram, Long Beach, Calif.)

LONG BEACH, Calif.--July 21--The business community of Long Beach turned out Thursday evening to welcome the city's newest airline.

More than 200 people sipped drinks, ate cake and admired an Airbus A300 jetliner on the tarmac at Long Beach Airport.

Presidential Air plans to use the plane for scheduled charter service beginning in mid-August, subject to approval from the Federal Aviation Administration.

Raymond Novelli, owner of Presidential Air and several related travel companies, showed off the widebody airplane, which will be the largest plane that has ever provided regular passenger service to Long Beach.

"Check out the restroom, look how big it is," he said to several visitors. Indeed, the restroom was spacious by airline standards....
