Oct. 12--Thorp's Harley Davidson's recent face-lift and expanded merchandise boutique may very well bring bikers to their leather encased knees.
In fact, the store's new boutique is a Harley lover's dream come true, say owners C.D. "Tex" and Pat Thorp.
The Thorps have Bakersfield's only authorized Harley dealership. But what has mouths gaping isn't so much the new look outside as the massive merchandise display inside. Black leather jackets, pants, boots, gloves and bikinis -- yes, bikinis -- abound.
The Thorps indicated they redesigned their dealership, which they opened about 30 years ago, to meet the changing appetites of Harley customers.
