Wind Energy Developers Fear Cut in Tax Break by Congress.(Originated from The Bakersfield Californian)

Oct. 20--Wind energy developers are battening down the hatches while Congress decides whether to cut an energy tax break that has been credited with pushing their industry to the brink of commercial success.
"Repealing the tax credit at this stage would be like changing the rules of a football game midway through the second quarter," said Clarence Grebey,
a spokesman for Kenetech Corp., a worldwide wind energy company with one development in Kern County.
Kenetech has numerous projects in the works that use the tax credit in their funding formulas.
