Nov. 16--Nearly half of California's top business leaders say they plan to expand their work forces next year, offering further evidence that the state's e conomy is recovering from the recession and rebuilding from the defense downturn .
Moreover, 70 percent of the executives polled in the California Business Ro undtable's Sixth Annual Business Climate Survey say they expect business conditi ons in the state in 1996 to be at least as good as they are this year.
It is the second consecutive year that business leaders are showing increas ed optimism.
Two years ago, in the depths of California's worst recession since World Wa r II, just 29 percent of the state's business leaders said they planned to expan d their work forces.
