wants to replicate the kind of high-profile successes enjoyed by modern-day health care industry legends like Phillip Frost and Rick Scott.

De Cespedes wants his West Dade company, Pharmed, to one day be as notable as Frost's Ivax Corp., the world's largest supplier of generic medicines, or Scott's Columbia-HCA Healthcare, the world's biggest investor- owned hospital chain.

"These are two people I certainly have as my heros, or people I try to pattern our company after," said de Cespedes, who founded Pharmed with his brother Carlos in 1982.
