Mar. 12--Former radio station owners John Brocks and Stephen Miller believe their latest investment will eventually rank high on the charts.

Brocks and Miller, who owned top-rated radio station KBOS/KKTR until January, recently bought the 31-year-old Carden School, a private north Fresno school for pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.

"In January, the radio station made us an offer we couldn't refuse," said Brocks, 54, a former president of Vallicorp Holding Co., who brings a New York banking background into the field of private education.

"This is a little jewel. There are two kinds of things you invest in: those that are mature or things that grow."
