Clear Channel Communications to Buy Three Radio Stations in Tulsa, Okla.(Originated from San Antonio Express-News)

Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News, April, 1996 by Fohn, Joe

Apr. 10--Clear Channel Communications Inc. will buy three Tulsa radio stations, bringing its holdings in that city to seven plus a television station, officials said Tuesday.

The $15.4 million purchase price from Federated Media includes KQLL-AM/FM and KOAS-FM, plus the previously announced acquisitions of KCUZ-AM/FM. Both transactions are contingent on signing definitive agreements and obtaining Federal Communications Commission approval.

"These stations will enhance Clear Channel's presence in Tulsa," said Lowry Mays, chairman and president of the San Antonio-based broadcast firm.

Clear Channel, the nation's biggest owner of radio stations, already owns radio stations KMOD-FM and KAKC-AM, as well as Fox affiliate KOKI-TV in Tulsa.
