Internet Bank Plans to Market Insurance Services.(Originated from Lexington Herald-Leader, Ky.)

LEXINGTON, Ky.--Apr. 12--Computer software that will allow Security First Internet Bank and other clients of Five Paces Inc. to offer insurance policies over the Internet was unveiled yesterday in Atlanta.

A second announcement, involving Internet brokerage services, is expected as early as next week.

Security First, an Internet bank operated by a subsidiary of Cardinal Bancshares Inc. in Lexington, will be the first to use the Virtual Insurance Manager software.

The service could begin this fall if government regulators approve the plan.

Personal-computer users could go to Security First's home page at http://www.sfnb.com on the World Wide Web and get price quotes from various insurers provided by QuickQuote Insurance Agency Inc. of Incline,...
