General Motors Executive Rick Wagoner Pushes Efficiency.(Originated from Detroit Free Press)

Jun. 1--A visitor to Rick Wagoner's office on the third floor of General Motors Corp.'s North American Operations headquarters in Warren is stunned by the huge photo of an Oldsmobile Aurora behind his desk.
But it's remarkable only for its size. Someone who runs an auto business could be expected to commemorate a car or two in the office.
The really personal stuff is on his bookshelves. Souvenir hats from plant visits, supplier conferences and Duke University, his alma mater. A basketball signed by colleagues is a reminder of his playing days as a freshman at Duke.
Then there's the oversized boxer shorts, white with press-on transfers of the North American Operations slogan, "Plan to Win" on each leg. They were a gag gift at a recent meeting. Wagoner...
