Austin, Texas, Area Officials Ratify Tax Break for Photronics.(Originated from Austin American-Statesman, Texas)

Jun. 12--Photronics, a company planning to build a $50 million plant in Round Rock, received a seven-year tax break from Travis County commissioners Tuesday that could save the company almost $750,000 if it hires enough low-income residents.

The planned 50,000-square-foot facility, which will be located in a portion of south Round Rock that dips into Travis County, already has received a tax abatement from the city.

Barry Rockwell, director of special projects for Photronics, said the company plans to break ground in a couple of months and begin production next spring with about 50 employees.
