Salt Lake City Looks at British Air Incentives.(Originated from The Salt Lake Tribune)

Jul. 10--If Salt Lake City wants British Airways to create a nonstop air route to London, Salt Lake City International Airport might have to pay for advertising overseas.

That is what Phoenix did to nail down its deal with British Air. Skyharbor Airport promised to spend $500,000 over two years to encourage Europeans to fly into Arizona.

At a Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce meeting Tuesday, Salt Lake City Mayor Deedee Corradini and Utah Air Travel Commission member Robert Campbell said Utah business would have to help support the Salt Lake City-London flights.
