Used-Car Superstore AutoNation USA Plans Site in Largo, Fla.(Originated from St. Petersburg Times, Fla.)

Jul. 12--Autonation USA, the new H. Wayne Huizenga-led chain that sells used cars with warranties and no-haggle pricing, has filed a site plan to build one of its first stores in Largo.

Fort Lauderdale-based AutoNation has filed plans with Pinellas County for a store that would have sales and service buildings along with 1,400 parking spaces. It would go on 21 acres of vacant land in the ICOT Center, at the northwest corner of ICOT Boulevard and Ulmerton Road.

The chain also plans to put in at least one store in Hillsborough County, making Tampa Bay one of AutoNation's first targets in its efforts to go nationwide.
