Car Dealers May Be Driving Away Sales.(Originated from The Orange County Register, Calif.)

SANTA ANA--Jul. 24--New-car dealers may be pushing their used-car customers into the arms of their competition, according to a report issued Tuesday.
A poll of 10,700 consumers conducted by AutoPacific Inc. of Santa Ana found that more than half of all used-car buyers are unhappy with the way they are treated when they shop on new-car lots. General rudeness and lack of product knowledge were the biggest complaints.
The findings could be important for auto retailers and manufacturers. Both groups are dealing with a glut of high-quality used cars coming to market as a result of the recent increase in auto leasing.
