Primark Acquires Consulting and Research Firm Yankee Group.(Originated from The Boston Globe)

Aug. 13--Yankee Group, a Boston consulting and market research firm, was acquired yesterday by Primark Corp. of Waltham for $34 million in cash along with a promise of up to $31 million if Yankee meets milestone goals of 30 percent annual growth for three years.
The acquisition is the latest in a list of deals for Primark. It comes one week after the company announced a joint venture with Allen Sinai, who for 13 years served as chief economist at Lehman Bros., to create a company called Primark Decision Economics Inc. That venture will provide financial and economic forecasts to businesses and institutions.
Yankee Group specializes in providing research services about computer and telephone communications.
