Aug. 30--Imagine Bank One Ballpark's huge arching trusses painted gold and you can guess who just signed a major contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
McDonald's Corp. will be dishing up Big Macs, fries and other fare at the ballpark when the first batter strides up to the plate in early 1998.
With three of its restaurants planned for the ballpark, this will be the first time McDonald's has set up shop in a professional sports stadium in the United States, according to the giant hamburger chain.
McDonald's and the Diamondbacks plan to announce today the signing of a 10-year, multimillion-dollar contract that will include an extensive marketing package involving radio, television and other media.
