Taurus SHO isn't just any sedan

Press the accelerator, and the 1997 Ford Taurus SHO lets you know it's not just another family sedan.

The 32-valve V-8 pushes you back into the bucket seat with authority -- though not with the whip-crack snap of a Corvette. The speedometer needle climbs, and the rushing sound of air whipping through the plenum tubes sets up a subtle but satisfying wail from the engine compartment.

Steering is dead-on accurate, and the suspension is firmly planted to the pavement. The 16-inch performance radials do a nice job of communicating what's happening where the rubber meets the road without sending jolting messages back to the passenger compartment.
