Johnson Controls to Make Auto Seats in China.(Originated from Detroit Free Press)

Sep. 26--Johnson Controls Automotive Systems Group is to announce today it has formed a joint venture company to make auto seats in China, bought an Australian auto-seat maker and opened a new regional sales office in Singapore.

The Plymouth-based auto supplier also will announce a technical agreement with an Indonesian auto-seat maker and has begun building seats for Ford Escorts at a new joint-venture factory in India.

The multi-pronged assault comes just a day after rival Lear Corp. announced it was forming its own joint venture in China to make seats and interior trim products for trucks made by Ford Motor Co. and Isuzu of Japan.
