Oct. 24--Rockwell Aerospace's Tulsa operation on Wednesday shipped the first of four Integrated Equipment Assembly structures it is producing for the International Space Station.

The 10,000-pound aluminum IEA will serve as the framework for integration of the space station's power module, and will house the majority of the electrical power system's orbital replaceable units. The ORU base plates and enclosures also are built by Rockwell.

The first IEA is being shipped to Littleton, Colo., for qualification testing by Lockheed Martin Aerospace. The International Space Station is a partnership between the United States, Russia, Europe, Japan, Canada and Italy.
