American Power Conversion's Stock Jumps $2.125 a Share.(Originated from The Providence Journal-Bulletin, R.I.)

Nov. 14--American Power Conversion's stock jumped $2.125 a share yesterday after its chief executive said he is "comfortable" with analysts' estimates that the company would earn 26 cents to 30 cents a share in the fourth quarter.

"We are comfortable with the range of fourth-quarter 1996 earnings per share estimates," said Roger B. Dowdell, the company president and CEO.

The West Kingston-based company makes uninterruptible power supplies, software and equipment that protects computers from power outages.

Dowdell commented in an APC news release announcing that the company's Smart-UPS products were awarded the Editor's Choice award by PC Magazine's Network edition.
