Staples to Build Corporate Headquarters Near Boston.(Originated from The Boston Globe)

Nov. 21--Staples Inc. said yesterday it has agreed to buy 82 acres in Framingham and it intends to build its corporate headquarters with up to four buildings at the site.
It was the second major corporate development plan to be announced in the Boston area in two days. Sun Microsystems of Mountain View, Calif., said Tuesday it planned to build up to 1 million square feet of office space in Burlington.
Staples, whose pending merger with Office Depot would create the nation's largest office-supply retailer, said it expects topike (Interstate 90) and Route 9. The buildings, totaling 600,000 square feet, would house about 1,500 corporate employees.
