Denver-Based Media News Group to Buy Paper in Lebanon, Pa.(Originated from The Patriot-News, Harrisburg, Pa.)

LEBANON, Pa.--Jan. 9--Denver-based Media News Group says it will buy The Daily News in Lebanon and two other daily newspapers from Thomson Newspapers.
The Lebanon newspaper went on the auction block last September when Thomson, based in Stamford, Conn., announced plans to sell 29 newspapers, including The Evening Sun in Hanover, The Express in Lock Haven and The News- Item in Shamokin.
In addition to the Lebanon newspaper, Media News said it has agreed to buy the Sentinel & Enterprise in Fitchburg, Mass., and The Daily Nonpareil in Council Bluffs, Iowa, through its Garden State Newspapers division.
