New York Times Company Plans to Sell Off More Magazines.(Originated from Daily News, New York)

Mar. 20--The Gray Lady is ditching more magazines.
The New York Times said yesterday it is unloading its tennis, skiing and sailing magazines to concentrate on two golf titles.
The company wouldn't say what it's asking for Tennis, Tennis Buyer's Guide, Cruising World, Sailing World, Snow Country and Snow Country Business.
Those titles generated $44 million in revenue for the Times last year, but are seen as lagging.
Its golf magazines -- Golf Digest and Golf World -- are market leaders and the company said it wants to focus on them.
It's not the first time the Times has looked to dump a stable of titles.
In 1994, the company sold its women's magazines division -- including such venerable titles...
