Home Depot Battles Equal Employment Opportunity Commission over Gender Case.(Originated from The Atlanta Journal and Constitution)

NEW ORLEANS--May 23--A U.S. magistrate judge in New Orleans on Wednesday asked lawyers for Home Depot and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to submit written briefs within seven days before he rules whether a gender discrimination lawsuit filed against the retailer can be broadened into a class-action case.

During a brief hearing on the EEOC's motion to intervene in the case, Magistrate Ivan L.R. Lemelle peppered both sides with questions, though he seemed more skeptical toward EEOC lawyers.
