Unisys President Quitting After Reshaping Pennsylvania Computer Firm.(Originated from The Philadelphia Inquirer)

Jun. 20--Embattled Unisys Corp. leader James A. Unruh said Thursday that he is quitting after struggling for seven years to reshape the Blue Bell, Pa., computer company.
Although Unruh was widely credited with preventing the company's demise in the early 1990s, critics, including the company's biggest investor, say he was unable to remake the company to compete effectively in today's volatile technology marketplace.
Investors paid a price for that failure; while shares of other technology firms have soared over the last decade, Unisys has produced a negative return of 15.2 percent a year for investors, according to a study by Institutional Shareholder Services, of Bethesda, Md.
