Boulder, Colo., City Council Approves Interim Deal with TCI.(Originated from Daily Camera, Boulder, Colo.)

Aug. 29--City council voted 7-1 Wednesday to approve a three-year interim cable agreement with cable giant Tele-Communications Inc. that's basically the same as the one rejected by voters in November.

The main difference is that the latest agreement is for three years, while the one voters axed was for up to 19. Councilwoman Lisa Morzel was the lone dissenting vote.

The council also seemed to support spending $15,000 on an abbreviated study of alternatives to a company that has been the target of customer complaints over programming, fee hikes and failure to add features such as high-speed Internet access.

However, council held off voting on the matter, opting instead to re-visit the expense during a budget meeting.
