With Bell Atlantic Purchase, Nynex Top Executive to Get to Know a Larger Area.(Originated from Asbury Park Press, N.J.)

MADISON--Sep. 6--As top executive of Nynex Corp., Ivan G. Seidenberg oversaw telephone service in a giant swath of territory running from Maine to New York.

But now that Nynex has been bought by Bell Atlantic Corp., Seidenberg has another job ahead of him: getting to know the giant swath of territory that encompasses New Jersey, Washington D.C. and the five other states that make up Bell Atlantic's service territory.

"I'm a new face, so it's important," Seidenberg said during a visit yesterday with Bell Atlantic employees in this Morris County municipality. On Thursday, he was in Wall Township, meeting with company salespeople at the Atlantic Club.
