New Jersey Panel Delays Decision on Sun Hotels' Casino License.(Originated from The Star-Ledger, Newark, N.J.)

Sep. 26--Soloman Kerzner called the incident an aberration in the company's otherwise outstanding history of honest operations. Now it's in the casino regulators' court.

The Casino Control Commission yesterday reserved its decision on granting a permanent license to Sun International Hotels Ltd. until 3 p.m. next Thursday. The commission yesterday heard a second full day of testimony by Sun's chairman about events surrounding a 1986 payment to a South African tribal homeland leader to obtain exclusive gaming rights.

The record was left open and attorneys for Sun and the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement were told to file written summations by the end of the business day Monday.
