Fleetwood, Pulte Join Forces to Push Manufactured Homes.(Originated from The Press-Enterprise, Riverside, Calif.)

Oct. 9--Fleetwood Enterprises has long maintained that its manufactured homes are comparable to site-built homes. Now, the nation's largest housing developer seems to be buying the argument.
Riverside-based Fleetwood and Pulte Corp. plan to set up a new company to market Fleetwood's manufactured homes through a nationwide network of display centers.
The company, Expression Homes, would pair Fleetwood's home building expertise with Pulte's skills at marketing homes in attractive settings, said Paul M. Bingham, Fleetwood senior vice president of finance.
"The primary emphasis will be on Fleetwood homes," Bingham said. "But there still is the flexibility there to sell competing brands if it's appropriate. There may be certain markets...
