Virginia Economic Development Group Gets $25,000 Grant from GTE.(Originated from Daily Press, Newport News, Va.)

SALUDA, Va.--Nov. 12--Virginia's River Country, an economic-development organization for the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck, will get a $25,000 grant from GTE.
The money will allow River Country to create an interactive site on the World Wide Web, a portable trade show exhibit and a recruitment document featuring regional economic data.
"Our success in recruiting new industry hinges largely on how we tell our story," said Neal Barber, director of River Country. "GTE's support will jump-start our marketing efforts in 1998. We already have a solid recruitment and marketing strategy, and this new funding will enable us to accelerate our outreach by harnessing the power of the Internet, as well as tapping into the more traditional marketing...
