ALAMOSA, Colo.--Nov. 17--The sounds of Celtic music emanate from Autumn Harvest Books at 620 Main St. and the smell of coffee fills the air.
Gwen Babcock's passion for reading led her to open Autumn Harvest Books.
She and her husband, Colorado State Patrol Capt. Jeff Babcock, moved to the San Luis Valley from Summit County in 1993. She worked for the First National Bank and when the couple's son, Austin, now 22 months, was born, Mrs. Babcock said she "needed something to do."
She said her friends told her she had talked about having her own bookstore "for years. I am passionate about it. I'm passionate about books. I started out small in Country Folk Art on San Juan."
