Author Awaits Sales Results from First Interactive Book.(Originated from The News Tribune, Tacoma, Wash.)

TACOMA, Wash.--Nov. 14--His new book, says Jay Levinson, is the world's first interactive book.

Interactive book?

Levinson -- in the Puget Sound region to promote the book -- explains that he wrote "Guerrilla Marketing With Technology" a chapter at a time. Starting in October last year, each chapter was put on the Microsoft small-business site. Site users were invited to read each chapter and to comment on the contents.

Some of the resulting letters appear in the book and the comments helped Levinson rework some of the chapters.

"People responded and we adjusted to it," Levinson adds.

That part of the first-ever experiment was a success. Some 60,000 people read each chapter online, Levinson says. And...
