Nintendo Sues Rocklin, Calif., Publisher for Copyright Violation.(Originated from The Sacramento Bee, Calif.)

Nov. 21--Video game maker Nintendo wants a Rocklin publisher to stop selling a strategy guide for a popular James Bond adventure game, claiming the book violates copyright laws.

In a federal lawsuit filed this week, Nintendo claims Prima Publishing cq copied 20 detailed maps from Nintendo's own strategy guide. Nintendo wants unspecified monetary damages from Prima -- the world's leading publisher of electronic game guidebooks -- and a court order stopping any further sales of the strategy guide.

In filing suit, Nintendo is employing a popular strategy in corporate America to protect what it claims to be its own "intellectual property."
