Friday Is D-Day for Liberty Bank's Florida Shareholders.

BRADENTON, Fla.--Jan. 28--When the bell sounds the closing of the stock market at 4 p.m. on Friday, it will end when Liberty National Bank stockholders can trade shares and still be eligible to vote on the bank's merger with Regions Financial Corp.

Liberty's merger with Montgomery, Ala.-based Regions is under review by the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. Paperwork on the merger is expected to be submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Friday, Liberty National Bank Chief Executive Officer Steve Jonsson said.

"We'll have a date for the shareholders vote hopefully next Monday or Tuesday," Jonsson said.
