Lockheed Martin to Add 19,000 Jobs.

Feb. 27--Lockheed Martin Corp. plans to add 19,000 jobs nationwide this year -- about 650 in Orlando -- to handle a slew of high-tech projects, the company's top official said Thursday.

The military-contracting giant, based in Bethesda, Md., has launched an ambitious hiring effort that should offset many of the job cuts expected from Lockheed's pending merger with Northrop Grumman Corp., CEO Vance Coffman said in Orlando.
