Virginia's Roanoke Gas to Pursue Corporate Restructuring.

Apr. 28--Under the proposed structure, Roanoke Gas would continue to be a public utility.

Roanoke Gas Co., which reported increased second-quarter earnings Monday, said it wants to position itself to grow in new directions.

The board of directors has given the company the go-ahead to pursue a corporate restructuring that would create a new holding company, said John Williamson, the company's president and chief executive.

"We'd like to grow Roanoke Gas to become a bigger and bigger hometown company," he said. "We're preparing ourselves to stay independent."
