May 15--After seven tough years as CCAir president, Ken Gann feels he can finally relax.
"My stress is way down," says Gann, 59. "I quit smoking in March, we've made a deal for airplanes, and for the first time since I got here, I can make a forecast and be confident that it might really happen."
On Thursday, Charlotte-based CCAir -- which employs 650 people and offers 90 daily departures from Charlotte/Douglas International Airport -- announced the best first quarter in its recent history. Net income rose 335 percent.
The airline, which operates as US Airways Express, said net income rose to $548,825, or 7 cents per share, from $126,147, or 2 cents per share, a year earlier. But revenue declined 11.7...
