Reynolds, Ga.-Based Energy Company Considers Providing Natural Gas.

Jul. 16--Flint Electric Membership Corp., headquartered in Reynolds, is conducting studies to determine whether it will set up a new energy company to supply its 60,000 household customers in 15 middle-Georgia counties with propane and natural gas.

Flint serves customers in part of Columbus and in Talbot and Taylor counties, and operates in an area stretching from Columbus to Warner Robins. It has 203 employees.

A goal would be to provide "better rates and better service, too," Joe Cade, Flint CEO and general manager, said Wednesday. "We've had ongoing studies for over a year. We're looking at all types of energy now. Within a year, if we are going to do it, we will be in the business."
