Sep. 18--Kansas City's newest telephone carrier, Birch Telecom, said this week that it had purchased Kansas City's oldest Internet service provider, TFSnet Inc.
The marriage of voice and data services -- now a prerequisite for any communications company -- puts another leg under Birch's strategy to become a one-stop communications provider for small businesses in Kansas and Missouri.
