Southern California Gas Co. Deal May Affect Electric Rates.

Sep. 17--An obscure but complex deal involving two local natural gas pipelines and Southern California Gas Co. may end up having a big impact on the cost of electricity in California, according to the owner of one of the pipelines.

SoCalGas parent Pacific Enterprises had options to buy the Kern River and Mojave pipelines in 2012, but was ordered by the California Public Utilities Commission to sell the options as part of its recent merger with San Diego Gas & Electric's parent company, Enova Corp.
