Democrats Say Idaho Has Little Clout with Energy Department.

Sep. 18--Idaho Democrats may be using the energy department's decision to not renew its contract with Lockheed Martin as evidence the state's Republican delegation is not a strong advocate for the INEEL.

Democratic congressional candidates Richard Stallings and Bill Mauk say Idaho's all-Republican delegation has burned too many bridges to get a serious ear from the Clinton administration. Both acknowledge they may not have been able to convince the Department of Energy to keep its contract with Lockheed Martin Idaho Technologies Co., but said the Republicans may be costing the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory new missions.
