Macy's New Gift Card Gets Trial Run in Rhode Island.

Oct. 01--WARWICK, R.I.--Macy's is getting a jump on the holiday season with a new electronic gift certificate card being test-piloted at its store in the Warwick Mall.
The card will be available in Warwick -- and usable only in the Warwick Mall store -- through Oct. 13. After that, you can buy it and use it at any of Macy's 188 stores nationwide.
One other store in the Northeast, in New Jersey, and two West Coast stores are also test-piloting the card before it's rolled out nationwide.
The plastic card looks like a charge card and comes in two versions: One is a simple card that says Macy's, and the other features photos of Macy's Thanksgiving parade.
