Missouri Companies Plan Alliance for Making, Marketing Livestock Feed.

Oct. 6--Farmland Industries Inc. of Kansas City and MFA Inc. of Columbia are close to forming a feed manufacturing and marketing alliance that would serve the Missouri livestock industry.

The two organizations said Monday that they were studying the feasibility of such an alliance. They expect that an agreement will be reached in several weeks. No fixed assets would change ownership under the alliance, a Farmland spokesman said.

Mike Sweat, president of Farmland's feed and grain processing, said running feed mills at full capacity had been tough for many companies in recent years, especially when those facilities were designed to manufacture several formulas.
