Oct. 15--Technology specialists from some of Richmond's largest firms got up early yesterday morning and were filing into a West End office building to see the latest developments involving DNA.

But they weren't seeking knowledge about the kind of DNA that solves crimes or determines genetic traits.

"When you say DNA people automatically think, well, you know, DNA," said Marti Stephens Hartka, a corporate account executive for Microsoft Corp. in Richmond.

"But this is simply a computer program that makes running a business easier."
