University of California Faculty to Protest Demise of Affirmative Action.

Oct. 20--Professors at all nine University of California campuses are planning teach-ins, walkouts and other actions on Wednesday and Thursday to protest the demise of affirmative action.
Organizers say they hope to generate discussion about the importance of having a diverse student body -- particularly in light of this year's sharp drop in enrollment of "underrepresented" minorities -- namely African-Americans, Latinos and American Indians -- on some campuses.
