Dallas-Based Furniture Retailer to Take Arlington, Texas, Site.

Oct. 27--ARLINGTON, Texas--Two of Arlington's higher-profile retail vacancies will soon be filled by a major furnisher and a national fitness chain.
Bassett Furniture Direct officials confirmed yesterday that it has purchased the 25,000-square-foot Computer City building at 1600 Interstate 20 and South Cooper Street and will open a store at the site early next year.
The move will mark Dallas-based Bassett Furniture Direct's first entry into Tarrant County. The company, which is owned by Virginia-based Bassett Furniture Industries, has four Dallas-area retail locations.
Retail brokers, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the 96-year-old furnishings firm looked at potential construction sites...
