Oct. 30--MEDICIS' COVER GIRL: If the cover of last year's annual report from Medicis Pharmaceutical Corp. belonged in a brown wrapper, this year's belongs in a picture frame.
The Phoenix dermatology products company, which featured the back of a nude woman on the cover of its magazinelike 1997 report, replaced her with a grinning baby this year.
Think Parents magazine instead of Playboy.
The company explains its choice in the table of contents: "Will there ever come a time when a baby envies your skin? Medicis continues to introduce new products for healthier, softer unblemished skin."
Jonah Shacknai, Medicis' chairman and chief executive officer, said the baby also connotes Medicis'...
