Nov. 23 -- LIFEPOINT INC.: Losses increased at Rancho Cucamonga-based LifePoint Inc. (OTC: LFPT) during the second quarter ended Sept. 30.
The company is developing a saliva-based test to detect the presence of drugs and alcohol noninvasively.
MICROTEL INTERNATIONAL INC.: Telecommunications test equipment manufacturer MicroTel International Inc. (Nasdaq: MCTL) improved its third quarter losses to $66,000, or 1 cent per share, compared with $6.8 million, or 59 cents per share a year ago.
Although Ontario-based MicroTel had lower sales during the quarter, its gross profit margins increased to 39 percent from 26 percent, the company said in an earnings report.
